The purchase of Wetland and/or Stream credits for approved development impacts is the preferred method by the State and Federal agencies.
The banking facility is regulated and closely monitored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to insure a high value, quality system appropriately cited within the surrounding landscape.
The Bank is bonded and legally assured by the Sponsor to provide an ecologically functional wetland system.
When credits are purchased for either wetland and/or stream mitigation it relieves the developer of all further liabilities for the impacts covered by the purchased credits. The Sponsor becomes responsible for all such liabilities by contract to the developer and an affidavit to the Federal and State agencies.
